○date: Wednesday, April 19th, 2017, 7th Period

○place: Ehime University Senior High School

○participants: The whole 11th grade

The 1st “Cross-Cultural Understanding” class was held, which is held on every Wednesday. This class is one of the classes related to activities as a super global high school. Our school interacts with partnership schools from 5 countries (the United States, Australia, South Korea, the Philippines and Romania) through TV conferences, overseas study tours, hosting of foreign students and cultural exchanges with foreign university students who are studying at Ehime University. Students offer a presentation about their research activities through a comparison with foreign countries and cultures, participating in classes and enjoying a homestay in our foreign affiliate schools during overseas training.

In the 1st class today, the 5 teachers accompanying students offered some guidance including outlines of the course and introduction of each country. Some students sought advice from the teachers how they should successively choose a country they will study during the class. The purpose of this course is to know the communication with the people who have different cultures and values, and to foster practical problem-solving approaches by finding and clarifying the problems between the countries.
