We(4 students and 1 teacher) made a 7-day visit to the City of Sacrament, U.S.A. from September 22nd to 28th.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Our trip started at San Francisco Airport on the morning of September 22nd.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We crossed\u00a0 the Golden Gate Bridge, enjoying the scenery of the townscape of San Francisco and vineyard of Napa from the car window,\u00a0 and our tour guide explained various things about America to us.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Arriving at John F. Kennedy High School, we met friends of J.F.K. students again with great joy.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It was two months since they had visited Ehime University Senior High School in July.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 They showed us around their campus,\u00a0 and we were surprised to see thousand students left school all at once and the size of its large campus, gymnasium, and football ground.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Our students’ host families came to the school gate to pick us up,\u00a0 and went to each host family’s home. \u00a0\u00a0 Our students seemed to be nervous but spent an enjoyable time of the first night in Sacrament.<\/p>\n
On September 23rd,\u00a0 we visited the State Capitol, the City Hall, and Old Sacrament which contains its frontier period.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 At that night some students served their handmade dishes to their host\u00a0 families.<\/p>\n
On September 24th,\u00a0 we joined classes in J.F.K. and made cultural exchange with students of J.F.K.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 J.F.K. students were very quiet in class,\u00a0 studying enthusiastically.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We presented colored paper cranes which our first and second grade students folded, where we wrote\u00a0 a message\u00a0 of peace one by one.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 After enjoying lunch with them,\u00a0 we went to C.K. McClatchy High School and received heartful welcome from them.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 They showed us around their campus and we enjoyed communication with them.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Then we showed our performance, wearing Yukata,\u00a0 and then enjoyed the performance of C.K.M. students.\u00a0\u00a0 We made an active question and answer session, and\u00a0 made cultural exchange with them.<\/p>\n
On the early morning of September 25th,\u00a0 we had breakfast with some members of PTA of Matsuyama Elementary School.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We showed our performance to kindergarteners and the lower grade students of Matsuyama Elementary School.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We enjoyed a question and answer time and cultural exchange.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 After observing classes,\u00a0 we presented\u00a0 our performance to the higher students and enjoyed a question and answer session and cultural exchange with them.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The school principal showed us around its large campus,\u00a0 and we observed various classes.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In the afternoon,\u00a0 we visited Rosemont High School in order to observe the campus and the classes, and presented our performance, and made cultural exchange.\u00a0 At host family houses,\u00a0 students relaxed themselves and spent the most pleasant night of those days.<\/p>\n
On September 26th, we said our final farewell to host families with tears in our eyes,\u00a0 and we went to Nuevo Park, where the International Day of Peace event took place.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We were introduced as one of the main guests in this event,\u00a0 and we showed our performance in front of a large audience.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We received a good reputation,\u00a0 and heard voices of praise from audience in various languages. \u00a0\u00a0 After our performance,\u00a0 we made cultural exchange with a sponsor of the event and children came to see our performance,\u00a0 and also enjoyed playing Sanshin with those who were interested in,\u00a0 and took a picture with\u00a0 the audience. \u00a0\u00a0 We enjoyed lunch and a free stroll with J.F.K. students,\u00a0 and left Nuevo Park.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We left San Francisco Airport that night,\u00a0 and arrived at Matsuyama safely on September 28th.<\/p>\n
During this visit,\u00a0 we had very valuable experiences, and spent a pleasant and enjoyable time. \u00a0\u00a0 We would like to express our\u00a0 gratitude to Mr. Oshihara,\u00a0 Matsuyama-Sacrament Sister City Corporation, host families, school officers of Sacrament, those who may be concerned with the event, and those whom it may concern.<\/p>\n
